two careers
one calling

Rose Coded exists at the intersection of technology and wellness. This is how I got here.

The builder

always tech oriented_

Before it was a career, it was just how my brain worked.

For as long as I can remember, I've always been tech-oriented.

I built my first website in 2009 before heading on my first trip abroad. Writing multiple postcards felt inefficient, so I built a travel blog instead. That probably tells you almost everything you need to know about me. I'm pretty sure I still sent some postcards, don't worry.

I was one of three girls in my entire high school to sign up for computer science. I went on to study engineering physics and mechanical engineering at university, where I learned about object-oriented programming through mathematical modelling, which is exactly as nerdy as it sounds and I loved (almost) every second of it.

Around the same time, I was navigating a long stretch of health challenges. Chronic conditions, injuries from years of playing sports, and a body that needed more attention than I could give it. I sought out every kind of health practitioner and modality I could find to help me feel better and in doing so fell headfirst into the wellness world.

The believer

always a client_

(subheading to comeeeee)

When I needed to take a leave from university I found myself working inside boutique fitness and wellness spaces across Toronto. I started with energy exchanges — trading my time for access to the services that were helping me heal — and worked my way up through every role to management level across multiple businesses. I've done everything from sitting at the front desk answering the phones, to cleaning, to running events and managing schedules.

And the whole time I was watching incredibly talented instructors and practitioners do life-changing work that nobody could find. These people were some of the best at what they did. You would never know it by the scale of their businesses.

That was the part that stuck with me.

I also built a health blog during that time. I know, another one. It started as a way to connect with others going through similar experiences. Between the designing, the writing, and the community that formed around it, I confirmed something I already knew: I wanted to build things on the internet for a living.

So when my health stabilized I pivoted away from engineering and into software development. I spent years as a full-stack developer, contributing to websites averaging 250,000 daily users and apps now used by over a million people. I gravitated toward front-end work because I'm a visual person at heart. And there is nothing cooler, in my humble opinion, than seeing someone interact with something you built.

The bridge

always aligned_

Rose Coded is what happens when you've spent your whole life standing in the middle.

I remember during one of my recovery sprints lying on a treatment table and after a single session and feeling something shift that I'd been carrying for years. And instead of relief, my first thought was disbelief. How does no one know about this person? The answer to which was not about the quality of the work but that was that nobody could find then.

That's the gap Rose Coded exists to close. Between expertise and visibility. Between doing incredible work and being found by the people who need it most. I speak both languages. I've lived on both sides. And I know exactly what it takes to build the bridge between them.

I'm not a service provider. I'll never be the person on the other side of that treatment table. But I've been the person on this side, and on this side of the screen on the screen.

Rose Coded is where everything finally comes together, like one ridiculously long code merge. The engineer and the empath. The builder and the believer. Two halves that have always existed, just finally in the same place.

Core Values

What I value_

The principles that shape how I show up for every client.

/001/

Clarity over complexity

SEO and web strategy don't need to be confusing. I'll always tell you what I'm doing, why I'm doing it, and what it means for your business.

/002/

Strategy before execution

I audit before I act. Every engagement starts with a clear understanding of where you are, what the opportunity is, and what needs to change, before anything gets built or optimized.

Goals over vanity metrics

Traffic numbers mean very little if they're not bringing in the right people. Every strategy I build is tied to real business outcomes.

/004/

Long-term over quick wins

Shortcuts get penalized. I build sustainable search presence and web foundations that compound over time, not campaigns that spike and disappear.

You own everything

When we're done, you still own your website, your new strategy, and your search presence.

Pride in every part of the work

I bring the same care and attention to a consult as I do to a full website overhaul. Nothing is too small to do properly.

more to the story

beyond the work

The person behind Rose Coded.

When I'm not working — which admittedly isn't that often, because I genuinely love it — I'm staying current on the tools, trends, and technologies shaping how we build and search online. AI and our relationship with the internet is something I think about a lot.

Outside of screens, I'm usually reading. Fantasy or sci-fi novels mostly but I am a sucker for a good self-help book. I also enjoy hiking and getting outdoors whenever Toronto weather allows it. On weekends you'll find me either going for a really long coffee walk with friends or watching motorsports with the same intensity I bring to my work.

I also have a deep interest in the woo-woo side of life. Crystals, sound baths, astrology, etc. the weirder parts of wellness that don't fit neatly into a box but I think matter just as much. It's the same instinct that drew me to wellness-focused businesses in the first place. Some things work even when you can't fully explain why.

Rose Coded is the convergence of all my interests. The engineer and the empath. The developer and the dreamer. Two halves that have always existed, just finally in the same place.
